In the Beginning/Spirit

Located in the solar plexus, this center of consciousness was originally androgynous, but in the west, with its emphasis of the masculine, this part has become more masculine.  Unlike the soul, feminine and passive, this center is now masculine and active.  It is the part that longs to be free, and in relationships, the spirit is the part that feels the loss of something precious to him; his freedom.  He’s the part that is bored with routine, that wants to experience and explore the new, the novel.  He is the part who is held captive in boring, meaningless jobs by the veil of fear which cripples his natural spontaneity, his playfulness, his desire for adventure.  Even those spirits blessed with financial independence, nonetheless feel imprisoned, constrained, and all of it the result of the ego veil of fear.

Spirit’s essence is trust, and as that trust is violated and taken advantage of, it seems somehow logical to embrace the fear surrounding him.  After all, it promises your spirit that it will protect him.  In his perfect unconditional trust of the veil of fear he believes the lie. For if fear were protecting him, why does he feel the most unsafe of all when he is in its grip?  As he nourishes the fear with his perfect trust-light, the fear builds for him a dark, terrifying prison. He trusts the fear to protect him, and in return the fear creates an altered reality in which this part of you never feels safe.

Soul is the place of intimacy and spirit is the place of friendship.  Your soul has lovers, your spirit has friends.  But the most important, the most trusted friend of your spirit is the veil of fear.  And just as no one can compete with the pain for the soul’s love, so too, no friend outside is more trusted, more listened to by spirit, than the veil of fear inside.

Spirit, one of the sacred twins inside, has a destructive relationship with the soul.  For one of the places the fear points to is love.  It looks logical to spirit to fear love, after all, with love comes the inevitable hurt, pain, and loss of freedom, and that’s a definite downer for a spirit who feels his best when perky and optimistic.  Hidden behind that veil of fear, spirit doesn’t realize that his trust-light is being transformed by it.  His trust-light becomes toxic as it passes through the veil, and the veil directs that toxicity at the most delicate, sensitive and vulnerable part of who you are: your soul.  And if your own spirit doesn’t trust your soul, how can your soul ever know that love can be trusted?  This is how the ego is creating conflict within, turning self against self.  Instead of trusting self, you fear self.  Instead of protecting self, your God blames and condemns self.

You have been taught you cannot live without an ego.  I say to live in the ego illusion is to live in hell, and to create through the ego illusion is to create hell on earth.
